Review: Davines Love Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner

Let me start by saying how much I love this line! After receiving both the shampoo and conditioner in my June Birchbox, I simply fell in love. Most samples don’t blow me away or give me much to try, this month it was different.

Right now I’m using both products on days my hair has been exposed to the salt water from the beach or the chlorine from a pool. It really does a great job of restoring my hair’s moisture and its gentle enough for my color-treated hair. It’s definitely one of those products that after the first time you use it, especially the conditioner, you want more, immediately!

Review: Maybelline Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil

Review: Maybelline Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil

I think the last time I wrote about eyebrow pencils was when I was using Anastasia brow wiz. Don’t get me wrong, I still really like Anastasia BUT I have found a cheaper version that I thought I would share with you guys.

It’s no surprise how much I like using Maybelline products so when I ran out of Anastasia (quickly too might I add) I had to seek an alternative. There was no way I had another $20 to spend on just my eyebrows. So while shopping in CVS one day I decided to check out Maybelline, my favorite non-expensive makeup brand. Of course they had an eyebrow pencil but would it be any good?

It’s safe to say it was better than good and down right great for the price ($5). It comes in many shades which is a huge bonus. My eyebrows are a lot darker than my actual hair so it’s helpful to find a shade that is actually  called “dark blonde”.

So basically I am pretty happy with this purchase, considering I’ve been using it for the past couple of months. It get’s the job done without spending a lot. I haven’t tried many other eyebrow pencil brands, but if you have, please leave us a comment below with your suggestions.

Review: Anastasia Brow Wiz

Review: Anastasia Brow Wiz

Eyebrows, the topic of conversation one day at Sephora. Some of you might remember that I “over-plucked” my brows last year and if you were curious, yes they are STILL growing back in!

While I’ve been tending to my brows, I’ve noticed that they are rather bushy and dull looking. I’ve been trying to shape them but it seemed they needed more while the rest of them grew in. It’s kinda like when your going through puberty and parts of you are changing but the rest hasn’t caught up. That was the dilemma I was facing and decided to seek help.

So on that faithful day in Sephora I asked my friend who is quite the makeup-whore what on earth I should do for my brows. She suggested Anastasia (apparently all the blogs were loving this line).

Twist my arm a little bit and I walked out of Sephora with this brow wiz I knew nothing about. I did my research and figured out how I was supposed to make this work and gave it my best shot.

To say I loved the results would be an understatement. I physically can not leave the house without using this product. It’s no natural looking it’s not even funny but yet leaves my brows looking quite polished.

A $21 dollar purchase was quite worth it to be honest. I opted for the Ash Blonde pencil and I think it looks fantastic. I’m not sure when I became so obsessed with my eyebrows but like I always say, there are worse obsessions.

Take a look at my before and after photos:

Like I said, I love the results! Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Review: KMS Quick Blow Dry Spray

Review: KMS Quick Blow Dry Spray
Review: KMS Quick Blow Dry Spray

If you read the last post you will have seen that I have taken a break from Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny. This was quite a huge deal for me because I had been using it for over 3 years. There was nothing wrong with it, but I was out of product and looking for something new.

I first stumbled upon KMS in one of my Birchboxes. I decided to look into the rest of their products to see what else they offered. I was pleasantly surprised to find they make a product similar to Super Skinny.

For those of you who do not know what Super Skinny is, allow me to explain. Super Skinny is a serum that calms hair and delivers a faster blow dry. It will cost around $28 for this.

The reason I like KMS so much is mainly because it does the same exact thing but for only $18. KMS is also a spray so it doesn’t leave my hands sticky! If you’ve never used a quick blow dry product, may I suggest starting with this.

Don’t get me wrong they are both really good products but I think for right now I’ll be sticking with KMS Quick Blow Dry Spray.
